What does this fault code mean?
The power consumption of hall sensor 7 is lower than normal, and the signal from the sensor together with the roof hydraulic pump is not sufficient. The convertible roof module (CRM) interprets this as the signal wire being shorted to voltage, or as a damaged sensor or control module. The roof may then not operate normally.
Possible causes
- The signal wire between the hall sensor and the roof control module is shorted to voltage
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof in both directions and see whether the fault returns
- 2Check that the connector and wiring to the hall sensor are not damaged, loose or corroded
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the signal wire has no short to voltage
- 4If no fault is found in the wire, replace the hall sensor or have a workshop check it
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop needs to check the roof control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The roof cannot be operated, or only moves partly
- A message appears in the text display
