What does this fault code mean?
The power consumption of hall sensor 7 is higher than normal, and the sensor gives no signal when the hydraulic pump for the roof is activated. The fault can be caused by the signal wire being shorted to ground, by a broken connection, or by an internal fault in the sensor or in the roof control module. The roof will not work as it should.
Possible causes
- The signal wire is shorted to ground
- The connection between the hall sensor and the roof control module is broken
- Internal fault in the hall sensor
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof in both directions and see whether the fault returns
- 2Check that the hall sensor connector is secure and free from oxidation and play
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the signal wire has no break and no short to ground
- 4Repair a damaged wire. If the connector and wire are intact but the fault remains, have a workshop replace the hall sensor
- 5If the fault still remains, a workshop needs to check or replace the roof control module
Symptoms you may notice2
