What does this fault code mean?
The power consumption of hall sensor 1 differs from normal both when the ignition is on and when it is off. The control module therefore cannot rely on the sensor position, and the roof may move worse than usual or not at all. The cause can be a damaged hall sensor or a fault inside the roof control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof and see whether the fault comes back
- 2Inspect hall sensor 1 visually for wear, cracks or other damage
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, follow hall sensor 1 in live data and check that the value changes while the roof runs
- 4If the sensor is damaged, a workshop should replace it
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop needs to replace the convertible roof module (CRM)
Symptoms you may notice2
- The roof cannot be operated, or only moves to a limited extent
