What does this fault code mean?
The power consumption of hall sensor 18 differs from normal in both the ON and OFF positions. The roof control module therefore cannot rely on the sensor signal, and the roof works poorly or not at all. The fault can be a damaged sensor or a fault inside the control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof and see whether the fault returns
- 2Inspect hall sensor 18 visually for wear or signs that it has failed
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, follow hall sensor 18 in live data while the roof runs and check that the value changes
- 4If the sensor is damaged, a workshop should replace it
- 5If the fault remains after checking the sensor, a workshop needs to replace the convertible roof module (CRM)
