What does this fault code mean?
The power consumption of hall sensor 12 differs from normal in both the ON and OFF positions. The roof control module therefore cannot rely on the sensor position, and the roof may work poorly or not at all. The cause can be a damaged hall sensor or a fault inside the control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof and see whether the fault returns
- 2Inspect hall sensor 12 visually for wear or signs that it has failed
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, follow hall sensor 12 in live data while the roof runs and check that the value changes
- 4If the sensor is damaged, a workshop should replace it. If the fault remains, a workshop needs to replace the convertible roof module (CRM)
Symptoms you may notice2
