What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 16 and hall sensor 15 report positions that do not match each other, and the convertible roof module (CRM) does not accept the combination. The cause can be a damaged sensor, a sensor that has moved out of position, or a protruding metal part that wrongly activates a sensor. The roof may only operate to a limited extent.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- A sensor has moved out of position
- A protruding metal part wrongly activates a sensor
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof in both directions and see whether the fault comes back
- 2Make sure hall sensors 15 and 16 are properly secured, and that the connectors are clean with no oxidation or loose connections
- 3Look for damage to the roof parts that could make both sensors give a signal at the same time
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the status of both sensors in live data while the roof runs and check that they do not show conflicting positions
- 5If a sensor is damaged, a workshop should replace it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No or limited roof operation
