What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensors 18 and 19 report positions that do not agree with each other. The convertible roof module (CRM) therefore cannot rely on the roof being in the correct position. The cause may be a damaged sensor, a sensor that has moved, or a protruding metal part wrongly activating a sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- A sensor has shifted from its position
- A protruding metal part wrongly activates a sensor
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof and see whether the fault returns
- 2Make sure hall sensors 18 and 19 are properly fixed, and that their connectors are clean
- 3Inspect the roof for damage that could cause both sensors to signal at the same time
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, compare hall sensors 18 and 19 in live data while the roof is running
- 5If a sensor is damaged, a workshop should replace it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The roof cannot be operated, or only to a limited extent
