What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensor 18 and hall sensor 5 have positions that do not agree with each other, and the roof control module reacts to this. The cause can be a damaged sensor, a sensor that has been displaced, or a protruding metal part wrongly activating a sensor. The roof may then operate to a limited extent or not at all.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- A sensor has been displaced
- A protruding metal part wrongly activates a sensor
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and test the roof in both directions to see whether it returns
- 2Make sure hall sensors 5 and 18 are fixed in place and their connectors are clean, without oxidation or play
- 3Go over the parts of the roof and look for damage that could affect where the sensors sit
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the sensor positions in live data while the roof moves
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, a workshop should inspect and if needed replace the sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No or limited roof operation
