What does this fault code mean?
Hall sensors 18 and 1 report positions that do not agree. The convertible roof module (CRM) therefore cannot reliably determine the roof position. The fault can be caused by a damaged or displaced sensor, or by a protruding metal part wrongly activating a sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor
- A sensor has moved out of position
- A protruding metal part wrongly activates a sensor
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof to see whether the fault returns
- 2Check that hall sensors 1 and 18 are fixed in place and that their connectors are free from oxidation and play
- 3Look for damage to the roof that could make both sensors activate together
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the position value of hall sensors 1 and 18 in live data while the roof runs
- 5If the sensor is damaged, a workshop may need to replace it
