What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault is labelled an internal fault in the control module, it concerns the supply voltage to the sensors, and the code is set while that supply is switched on. The sensors are supplied in groups, so a short to ground in one group's supply can cause the fault. The roof may operate to a limited extent or not at all.
Possible causes
- The supply voltage to sensors 15, 16 and 19, or to sensors 3, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13, is shorted to ground
- The sensors are supplied in groups, and one group has a fault
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, test the roof and see whether it comes back
- 2Use a multimeter to confirm that the supply wires to the sensor group have no short to ground
- 3Look at the connectors to the sensors in the group for oxidation and loose connections
- 4Replace a faulty wire. If the fault remains, a workshop should look at the roof control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- No or limited roof operation
