What does this fault code mean?
One of the wires between the hydraulic pump and the convertible roof module (CRM) is shorted to voltage or ground. The code is only set when the hydraulic pump is activated. The fault can also come from wires shorted to each other, or from an internal fault in the pump or in the roof control module.
Possible causes
- One wire between the hydraulic pump and the roof control module is shorted to ground
- One wire between the hydraulic pump and the roof control module is shorted to voltage
- The wires between the hydraulic pump and the roof control module are shorted to each other
- Internal defect in the hydraulic pump
- Internal fault in the roof control module (CRM)
What you can do
- 1Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof to see whether it comes back
- 2Inspect where the hydraulic pump connects to the roof control module for oxidation and loose contacts
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the wires have no short to voltage, no short to ground and no short to each other
- 4If a wire is faulty, replace it. If nothing is found, a workshop should look at the pump and the roof control module
