What does this fault code mean?
The convertible roof module (CRM) receives an identity signal over the CAN network from the central electronic module and compares it with its own configuration ID. If the IDs do not match, the code is set. A possible cause is a used control module fitted without software being loaded, and the fault is then remedied by reloading the software.
Possible causes
- Incorrect CAN configuration ID
- Open circuit in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Consider whether anything has recently been done to the car, such as fitting a used roof control module
- 2Read out and clear the fault code, then test the roof to see whether it comes back
- 3Check that the connectors in the CAN network have no loose connections or breaks
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop should reload the software in the control module with the latest version

- The push button does not work
- No or limited roof operation
- The radio antenna does not extend or retract
