What does this fault code mean?
The control module for the DC/DC converter, which converts power from the high voltage battery to the car's ordinary electrical system, has found an internal fault in its main processor. The fault is generic and gives no further detail on the fault type. The code is tested when the ignition is switched on and is only stored when the fault is actually present. Because the converter is part of the high voltage system, charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the DC/DC converter control module
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and switch it on again. Then check whether the warning has cleared
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and drive the car for a while to see whether it returns
- 3If the fault returns after a restart, have a workshop check the high voltage system and replace the control module if needed
- 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not work on the converter or its wiring yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- The high voltage battery does not charge, or charging is reduced while driving
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
- The combustion engine runs all the time or too often in HYBRID mode
What the fault can affect2
- The high voltage battery is not charged
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
