What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that its status circuit is too low, and the fault concerns an open circuit. The causes may be a short to ground, a break or short in the connections, or corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads. The code is tested when the ignition is switched on and is only stored once the fault is confirmed. Charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground
- Short circuit or open circuit in the connections
- Corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on again. Check whether the code comes back after the restart
- 2Have a workshop check the ground point, which should be tight and free from corrosion, since a poor ground connection can cause this fault
- 3Have a workshop check the connections and wiring to the converter for breaks, contact resistance and oxidation, and look for a short to ground
- 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not work on the wiring or connectors yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery is absent or reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
