What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the status circuit is low and that the voltage in the circuit is too high. The cause is a short circuit to voltage, meaning a wire has contact with the power supply where it should not. Because the converter is part of the high voltage system, charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to voltage in the wiring
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and switch it on again, then see whether the code returns
- 2A scan tool can clear the code, after which a short test drive shows whether it comes back
- 3Have a workshop check the converter wiring for a short to voltage, and the ground point for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not work on the converter or its wiring yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- The high voltage battery does not charge, or charging is reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
