What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the status circuit is low and that the current in the circuit is too high. The causes may be a short circuit or break in the connections, or corrosion between cable lugs and screw heads. Because the converter is part of the high voltage system, charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the connections
- Corrosion between cable lugs and screw heads
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, then on again, and see whether the code comes back after the restart
- 2Have a workshop check the ground point and the connections to the converter for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop look for breaks and for corrosion at cable lugs and screw heads
- 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not work on the wiring or connectors yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery is absent or reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
