What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the status circuit is low and that a component in the converter is not working correctly. The causes may be a short to ground or to voltage, a break or short in the connections, or corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads. Because the converter is part of the high voltage system, charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the connections
- Short circuit to ground
- Short circuit to voltage
- Corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and switch it on again, then see whether the code returns
- 2Check that the ordinary battery is fully charged and that its terminals are tight
- 3Have a workshop check the supply to the converter for breaks, contact resistance and oxidation, and check the ground point
- 4If the fault remains, the converter control module needs replacing, which only a workshop should do. The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- The high voltage battery does not charge, or charging is reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
