    VOLVO

DCDC-P0A101C - DC/DC Converter Status Circuit High. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage out of range

    System

    Unknown System / Manufacturer Specific

Volvo models this fault code applies to

    Applies to the following models:

    1 model

    V60 (2011–)

Show models by year and engine (2)
    • Volvo V60 (2011–)2013–2014Engine D82PHEV only
    • Volvo V60 (2011–)2015Engine D82PHEV, D87PHEV only

What does this fault code mean?

The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the status circuit is high and that the voltage in the circuit is outside the permitted range. The code may be a follow-up fault from another control module in the high voltage circuit, such as the on-board charger (OBC). In that case the fault in the charger must be fixed first, then the code can be cleared. A break or short in the high voltage wiring between the battery, the charger and the converter can also cause it, which affects charging of the high voltage battery.

    Possible causes

    • Fault in another control module in the high voltage circuit, such as the on-board charger (OBC)
    • Break or short in the connectors or high voltage wiring between the battery, the charger and the converter
    • Damaged on-board charger (OBC) or damaged DC/DC converter

    What you can do

    1. 1Read all the fault codes in the car. If the on-board charger (OBC) has its own code, deal with that first, since this code is then only a follow-on fault
    2. 2Have a workshop check that the connectors and high voltage wiring between the battery, the charger and the converter are free from short circuits and breaks
    3. 3Once the root cause is fixed, switch the ignition off and on again, clear the code and check whether it returns
    4. 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not work on the charger, the converter or their wiring yourself

    Symptoms you may notice4

    • Warning symbol and message in the display
    • Charging of the high voltage battery is absent or reduced while driving
    • The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
    • Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected

    What the fault can affect2

    • No charging of the high voltage battery
    • Hybrid drive mode is forced

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
