What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the supply voltage on its ignition-controlled input is below the lower limit while the ignition is on. The fault is generic and gives no further detail on its type. The causes may be a battery voltage that is too low, a short to ground, a break or poor contact in the connections, or corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads. Charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the connections
- Short circuit to ground
- Battery voltage too low
- Corrosion at wire lugs and screw heads
What you can do
- 1Check that the ordinary car battery is fully charged and that its terminals are clean and tight
- 2Switch the ignition off and on again once the battery is in good condition, and see whether the code returns
- 3Have a workshop check the ignition supply wire to the converter for breaks, contact resistance and oxidation, and check the ground point
- 4The high voltage system may only be handled by qualified personnel. Do not make any changes to the converter's wiring or connectors yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- The high voltage battery does not charge, or charging is reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
