What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter module in the plug-in hybrid has detected too many critical faults in its circuit, or a configuration fault. The DC/DC converter takes energy from the high-voltage battery and converts it for the car's ordinary 12-volt system.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the DC/DC converter module
- Incorrect configuration or software after earlier work on the car
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and switch it on again to see whether the fault remains
- 2Check that the 12-volt battery is charged and in good condition
- 3If the fault remains, the converter module needs checking and most likely replacing
- 4Never work on the high-voltage system yourself – it must only be handled by qualified personnel
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning message in the display
- The high-voltage battery does not charge, or charges poorly
- Pure electric and other drive modes may be unavailable
- The combustion engine runs more often or all the time
What the fault can affect2
- The high-voltage battery is not charged
- The car is forced into hybrid mode
