What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that the temperature sensor B circuit is giving a value that is too high, and that a component or function is blocked. The fault may be caused by a faulty temperature sensor, but also by cooling of the converter not working. Charging of the high voltage battery is affected, because the converter is part of the high voltage system.
Possible causes
- Faulty temperature sensor B
- Faulty cooling of the converter
What you can do
- 1Restart the system by switching the ignition off and on again, and see whether the code returns
- 2Check that nothing is blocking the cooling of the converter, and look for leaks in the cooling system
- 3Have a workshop check temperature sensor B and the cooling of the converter with diagnostic equipment
- 4The high voltage system is only for qualified personnel, so leave all work on the converter and its wiring to them
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol with a message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery is absent or reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- PURE, SAVE and AWD drive modes switch off on their own or are unavailable
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
