What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has registered that temperature sensor B is giving erratic readings. The fault is generic and gives no further detail on its type. The causes may be a faulty temperature sensor in the control module or a cooling system that is not working. Charging of the high voltage battery is affected, because the converter is part of the system.
Possible causes
- Faulty temperature sensor B in the control module
- Faulty cooling system
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and switch it on again, and check whether the warning goes away
- 2Look for leaks in the cooling system and see whether the coolant level is within the correct range
- 3Have a workshop check temperature sensor B and the cooling system with diagnostic equipment, and check the connectors, since erratic readings can come from them
- 4Leave any work on the converter's cooling or wiring to qualified high voltage personnel
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery is uneven or absent while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
