Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The DC/DC converter control module has not been able to connect to the high speed CAN bus in the intended way, so it cannot communicate with the other control modules. The fault is generic and gives no further detail on its type. The fault comes from the CAN signal being missing or having the wrong content. Because the converter is part of the high voltage system, charging of the high voltage battery is affected.
Possible causes
- CAN signal on the bus is missing or has the wrong content
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on again, and see whether the code comes back
- 2Check whether other control modules in the car also show faults, since a shared bus problem can produce this code
- 3Have a workshop check the control module's connection to the high speed CAN bus with diagnostic equipment
- 4Work on the CAN wiring or the converter's wiring belongs to qualified high voltage personnel, so leave it to them
Symptoms you may notice4
- Message and warning symbol in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery is absent or reduced while driving
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or are not available
What the fault can affect2
- No charging of the high voltage battery
- Hybrid drive mode is forced
