What does this fault code mean?
The driver's door control module has registered that the locking signal from the driver's door lock is too low. The lock may have stuck in the locked position, the lock switch may be faulty, or the locking signal wire may be shorted to ground. In that case the key does not operate the lock from the driver's door.
Possible causes
- Lock stuck in the locked position
- Faulty lock switch with an internal short circuit
- Locking signal wire shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Try locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key and note whether the lock moves in both directions
- 2Check that the lock button in the door returns fully when released
- 3Use a multimeter to check the locking wire for contact with ground (the body), including while the door is opened and closed
- 4If a short is found or the lock keeps sticking, a workshop should repair the wire or fit a new lock
Symptoms you may notice1
- The lock cannot be operated with the key from the driver's door
