System
Driver Door Module (DDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module registers that the signal from the outside temperature sensor is missing or too low, which points to the signal wire being short-circuited to ground. The outside temperature gauge then does not work.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then with ignition on check that the outside temperature shown is reasonable
- 2The sensor is always mounted in the right-hand door mirror, even on cars with the steering on the other side. Check the mirror connector for oxidation, loose contacts and damage
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with ground (body). Replace the wire if it is damaged
- 4If no fault is found, replace the outside temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Outside temperature gauge does not work
