What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) has registered that the signal wire to the child lock motor in the rear door is too low. The wire is short-circuited to ground, and the child lock then does not work.
Possible causes
- Signal wire to the child lock motor short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then with ignition on check that the child lock works
- 2Check the wire in the rear door at the cable grommet for chafing and crush damage
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the signal wire has no contact with ground (body). Replace the wire if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors in the rear door for oxidation and loose contacts
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop swap out the rear-door control unit
