Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The door module powers the lock motor for the blocked lock position in the driver's door, and the output signal is too low. The fault is caused by the supply cable being short-circuited to ground. The code is always set together with a matching fault code for mirror folding, because they share a wire inside the module.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in connections
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes, clear them and check whether they return. Also trace any fault code for mirror folding
- 2Test the locking functions with the buttons and controls and note what does not work
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the supply cable to the lock motor has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors in the driver's door for moisture and oxidation, and clean them
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the door module and the lock motor
Symptoms you may notice4
- Does not lock to the deadlock position
- Central locking does not work
- Electric door mirror adjustment does not work
- Door mirror folding does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Mirror folding and power adjustment are blocked to prevent the car from being locked by accident
