Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The door module powers the lock motor for the blocked lock position in the driver's door, and the output signal is too high. This can be caused by the supply cable being short-circuited to voltage or having an open circuit. The code can sometimes be set by a fault that must first be traced using other fault codes.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to voltage
- Open circuit in the supply cable
- Poor contact, oxidation or contact resistance at the connectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse positions are usually shown on the cover of the fuse box
- 2Read out the fault codes in the module and trace any other codes first, especially for mirror folding and the shared central lock motor
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to check the supply cable is not broken and has no contact with plus. Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors in the driver's door for contact resistance, oxidation and loose contacts
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- Does not lock to the deadlock position
- Central locking does not work
- Door mirror folding does not work
- Electric door mirror adjustment does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Mirror folding and power adjustment are blocked to prevent the car from being locked by accident
