What does this fault code mean?
The rear door module on the driver's side drives the motor for the child safety lock. When the child lock is activated, the output signal is too low, because the supply cable is short-circuited to ground. The child lock in that rear door then does not work.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then activate the child lock with the switch to see if the code returns
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the supply cable to the child lock motor has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 3Check the connectors in the rear door for moisture and oxidation, and clean them
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the child lock motor and listen for it to start
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the control module in the rear door
