What does this fault code mean?
The rear door module on the driver's side drives the child lock motor. The output signal becomes too high when the child lock is activated, which can be caused by a supply cable short-circuited to voltage or a break in the cable. The child lock then does not work.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to voltage
- Break in the supply cable
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then activate the child lock with the switch to see if the code returns
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the cable to the child lock motor is not broken and has no contact with plus
- 3Check the connectors in the rear door for oxidation and loose contacts
- 4If no fault is found, have a workshop swap out the rear-door control unit
