What does this fault code mean?
The left front door module powers the defrost element of the left door mirror. The output signal is too low when the defroster is activated, because the signal cable is short-circuited to ground. Heating in the left mirror then does not work.
Possible causes
- Signal cable to the left mirror defroster short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then switch on the defroster for the left mirror to see if the code returns
- 2Check the connector at the left mirror for oxidation and loose contacts
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the signal cable to the heating element has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the left mirror heater and check that it starts
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop try a new left door mirror
