What does this fault code mean?
The left front door module powers the defroster element in the left door mirror. When the defroster is switched on, the output signal is too high, which points to a short to the supply voltage on the defroster's signal wire. The left mirror heating then stops working.
Possible causes
- Signal wire to the left mirror defroster short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then switch on the defroster to see if the code comes back
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the signal wire has no contact with plus. Replace the wire if it is shorted
- 3Check the connector at the left mirror for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the left mirror heater and feel whether the glass warms up
- 5If the fault persists, have a workshop check the door module in the left front door
