What does this fault code mean?
The right front door module powers the defroster heating element in the right door mirror. The output signal is too high when the defroster is activated, which can be caused by a short to voltage or an open circuit in the signal wire. The right mirror heating then stops working.
Possible causes
- Signal wire for the right mirror defroster short-circuited to supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then switch on the defroster for the right mirror to see if the code returns
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken and has no contact with plus. Replace the wire if it is damaged
- 3Check the connector to the right mirror for oxidation, loose contacts and damage
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the right mirror heater and check whether it starts
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop try a new right door mirror
