What does this fault code mean?
The left front door module powers the puddle lamp in the left door mirror. The fault is stored when the lamp is switched on and the output signal is too low, which is caused by a short to ground in the power supply cable. The mirror lamp then does not work.
Possible causes
- Power supply cable to the puddle lamp short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then switch on the lamp to see if the code returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse positions are usually shown on the cover of the fuse box
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the supply cable to the lamp has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the lamp holder in the left mirror for a short circuit and replace the bulb if it is damaged
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop try a new door mirror
