What does this fault code mean?
Each window lift has a Hall sensor that measures how fast that window turns, which is used to determine the window position. The fault is stored when the signal from the sensor in the front side window is incorrect. Automatic window closing then does not work, and if the sensor is broken the functions cannot be used.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor
- Signal cable short-circuited to voltage
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
- Break in the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and check with the switch whether the front side window can be run fully up and down
- 2Check that the glass moves freely in the door and that the window lift is not stiff
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the sensor's signal cable has no contact with plus or ground and is not broken. Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors at the window lift for oxidation and loose contacts
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the Hall sensor in the window lift
Symptoms you may notice1
- Auto-close function of windows does not work
