What does this fault code mean?
The window lifts in the rear doors have Hall sensors that measure how fast each window turns, and the window position is determined from this. The fault is stored when the sensor signal is incorrect, and automatic closing of the rear door windows then does not work.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor
- Signal cable short-circuited to voltage
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
- Break in the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and check with the switch whether the rear door window can be run fully up and down
- 2Check that the rear door window moves freely and is not stiff
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the rear door sensor has no contact with voltage or ground. Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors at the rear door window lift for oxidation and loose contacts
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the Hall sensor in the rear door window lift
Symptoms you may notice1
- Auto-close function of windows does not work
