What does this fault code mean?
The left front door module exchanges data with the left camera module (LCM) over the LIN bus. The fault is stored when the power supply cable to the blind spot warning LED is short-circuited to ground. On some cars built from mid-May 2011 to early February 2012 the fault may be linked to software.
Possible causes
- Power supply cable to the LED short-circuited to ground
- Software fault on some cars built in the period above
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then test drive the car to see if it returns
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the LED supply cable has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 3Check the connectors at the left camera for oxidation and loose contacts
- 4If the car was built in the period above and the fault remains, have a workshop check whether a software update is available for the system
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop check the left camera module (LCM)
Symptoms you may notice2
- The LED does not light
- A message appears in the information display
