What does this fault code mean?
On cars with the blind spot information system (BLIS) a camera is fitted in each external mirror, and the driver door module powers the driver-side camera. The fault is stored when the output signal is too low, because the supply cable is short-circuited to ground. The LED then does not light, and a message may appear in the display.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, then test drive the car to see if it returns
- 2With ignition off, use a multimeter to confirm the supply cable to the driver-side camera has no contact with ground (body). Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 3Check the connectors in the driver's side mirror for moisture and oxidation, and clean them
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the blind spot system on the driver's side and check whether the camera responds
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop check the camera in the driver's side mirror
Symptoms you may notice2
- LED does not light
- A message appears in the information display
