DDM-B11BD15 - Mirror Fold. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System
Driver Door Module (DDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The door module supplies the motor for the electrically foldable mirror on the driver's side. The code is stored when the output current is too low during folding or unfolding, or too high when the central locking is not being operated. It is always set together with the matching blocked lock code, and can sometimes be caused by a fault that must be traced first using other codes.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to voltage
- Open circuit in the supply cable
- Poor contact, oxidation or contact resistance at the connectors
- A fault that must first be traced using other fault codes, for example in the supply for mirror folding or the shared central lock motor
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes in the module and trace the other codes stored there first
- 2Check the fuse for the electric mirrors in the fuse box and replace it if it is blown
- 3With ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the supply cable to the mirror motor is not broken and has no contact with voltage. Replace the cable if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors in the driver's side mirror for contact resistance, oxidation and loose contacts
- 5If the fault remains after tracing the other codes, have a workshop check the door module
Symptoms you may notice3
- Central locking does not work
- Electric door mirror adjustment does not work
- Door mirror folding does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Mirror folding and power adjustment are blocked to prevent the car from being locked by accident
