What does this fault code mean?
The rear door module controls the central locking and the child safety lock through a relay on a shared output. The module in the rear door also informs the driver and passenger door modules about the relay status. The fault is stored when the supply is too low or too high, or when the relay is stuck. The locks in the rear doors may then not work correctly.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground
- Short circuit to supply voltage
- The relay is stuck
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check that the locks in the rear doors can be locked and unlocked by hand, and that nothing is stiff mechanically
- 3Inspect the wiring harness to the lock motors in the rear doors for a short to ground or supply voltage, and check that the connectors are secure
- 4Read and clear the code, road test and see whether it returns
- 5The code points to a damaged component in the rear door module: have a workshop replace the module and confirm that the fault is cleared
Symptoms you may notice2
- Central locking does not work, the doors cannot be locked or unlocked
- The child safety lock in the rear doors does not work
What the fault can affect1
