What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module controls the lamp in the central locking button that shows whether the car is locked or unlocked. The fault is stored when the current to the lamp is too low or when the wire is broken. The lock status lamp then does not light as it should, and only the lamp is affected.
Possible causes
- The supply wire is short-circuited to battery positive
- Open circuit in the supply wire
- Contact resistance, oxidation or a loose connection in the connectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check whether the lamp in the front door central locking button lights up when the car is locked and unlocked
- 3Check the connector to the button in the door for oxidation, moisture and chafing on the cable
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the lamp has no contact with battery positive and no break
- 5Read and clear the code, and check whether it returns
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the door module and the button
