VOLVO
DDM-B12BC11 - Mirror Position Sensor Supply. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Driver Door Module (DDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules supply the potentiometers that register the mirror position during electric adjustment. The fault is stored when the voltage on the signal wire is too low, which is caused by the supply wire having contact with ground, or by moisture and oxidation in the connections. Electric mirror adjustment then cannot be relied on.
Possible causes
- The supply wire to the potentiometers is short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the mirror position in live data while adjusting the mirror and check that the value changes
- 3Check the connectors in the door and at the mirror base for moisture and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the position sensor has no contact with ground
- 5Read and clear the code, and check whether it returns
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the module and the mirror
Symptoms you may notice1
- Electric adjustment of the mirrors does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The module stops supplying the position sensors in the mirrors
