What does this fault code mean?
The driver door module supplies the heating element that defrosts the outer mirror. The fault is stored when the current on the output is too high, which is caused by the defroster wire having contact with ground, or by moisture and oxidation in the connections. The mirror defrosting then does not work.
Possible causes
- The wire to the defroster in the outer mirror is short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the mirror defrosting and check that the glass heats up
- 3Inspect the cable from the door to the mirror for chafing, pinching and moisture
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the defroster has no contact with ground
- 5Check the connectors in the door and at the mirror base for oxidation
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control module and the mirror
