DDM-B12DC54 - Front Window Motion/Position Sensor. System Programming Failures. Missing calibration
System
Driver Door Module (DDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver door module (DDM) has lost track of the front window's end positions or judges them to be incorrect. Without this learned information the automatic up/down and anti-pinch functions do not work, so the module blocks the automatic function until the window has been initialised again.
Possible causes
- Voltage drop while the window motor was running, for example with a weak battery
- The window has been moved by hand or beyond its previously learned end position, for example during workshop work
- The learning routine was interrupted by pressing the window switch
- The window was obstructed or runs stiffly in its seals
- Incorrect signal from the window regulator position sensor
What you can do
- 1Initialise the window: run it fully up with the switch and keep holding for a moment at the top, then run it fully down the same way
- 2Check that the window moves freely and does not stick in the seals
- 3Check that the battery is in good condition
- 4If the fault returns after initialising, have the window regulator and its sensor checked by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic window up/down does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The module blocks automatic window operation
