Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules continuously check the signal from the switch for the electric window lift of the rear window. The fault is stored when the signal from the switch has been active for a long time, for example if the switch is stuck, or when the signal wire has been short-circuited to ground for a long time. The module then ignores the signal until the switch is no longer pressed.
Possible causes
- The switch is stuck in the pressed position
- The signal wire is short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
- The local window switch is damaged
What you can do
- 1Check that the switch in the door can be pressed in and released, and that it is not stuck
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Test the other window switches in the door and see whether only the switch for the rear window fails
- 4Check the connector to the switch for moisture and oxidation
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with ground
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the switch and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The window lift does not work, works only partly or works incorrectly
What the fault can affect1
- The signal from the switch is ignored until it is no longer pressed
