DDM-B12FF11 - Rear Door Switch Illumination. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Driver Door Module (DDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules control the illumination of the switch panels in the doors. The fault is stored when the voltage on the signal wire is too low, because the supply wire has contact with ground, or because of moisture and oxidation in the connections. The illumination is then switched off.
Possible causes
- The supply wire is short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check whether the illumination in the rear door switch panel lights in the modes where it normally does
- 3Check the connector to the switch panel for moisture and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the illumination has no contact with ground
- 5Read and clear the code and check whether it returns
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the switch panel and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The illumination of the switches does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The illumination of the switch panel is switched off
