What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules supply the Hall sensor in the window lift, which measures how fast the window moves and therefore where it is. The fault is stored when the signal from the output is too low, which is caused by the supply wire having contact with ground. Without a working Hall sensor the automatic functions for the window cannot be used.
Possible causes
- The supply wire is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Test the window up and down with the switch and see whether it moves smoothly all the way
- 3Inspect the connector and the cable to the window lift in the door for moisture, oxidation and chafing
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the Hall sensor has no contact with ground
- 5Read and clear the code and check whether it returns
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the Hall sensor and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic closing of the window does not work
