What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules supply the Hall sensor in the window lift, which measures how fast the window moves and therefore where it is. The fault is stored when the signal from the output is too high, which points to a damaged Hall sensor, the supply wire having contact with supply voltage, or a break in the supply wire. Without a working Hall sensor the automatic functions for the window cannot be used.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor
- The supply wire is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Open circuit in the supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Test the window up and down with the switch and see whether it moves smoothly all the way
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the Hall sensor has no contact with battery positive and is not broken
- 4Inspect the cable to the window lift for chafing and pinching
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the Hall sensor and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic closing of the window does not work
