Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module communicates with the power seat module (PSM) over the CAN network. The fault is stored when communication is disturbed or absent. The automatic mirror adjustment linked to the memory setting then does not work.
Possible causes
- No supply voltage to the power seat module
- Open circuit in the earth wire to the power seat module
- Open circuit or short circuit in the CAN wires
- Contact resistance, oxidation or a loose connection in the connections
- The power seat module is not intended for this car, for example if it is second-hand with different software or hardware
- The driver door module is not intended for this car, for example if it is second-hand with different software
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and diagnose them first
- 2Check that the fuses for the front seat and the mirrors are intact
- 3Check that the earth connection to the power seat module is secure
- 4Check that the connectors on the CAN wires are secure and free from corrosion
- 5Check whether the mirrors can still be adjusted electrically without the memory function, so you know whether the fault only concerns the memory
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment determine which module communicates faultily and repair it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The automatic mirror adjustment with memory does not work
