Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door module (DDM/PDM) receives the selected gear from the transmission control module (TCM) and has found that this information is of too low quality to use. The code is a follow-on: it was stored because the fault lies in another module, so the transmission control module must be repaired first. The code can then be erased.
Possible causes
- Fault in the transmission control module (TCM) sending gear information of too low quality
What you can do
- 1Read and note the codes stored in all control modules, so you can see which ones are stored together with this one
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is well charged
- 3Start with the repair of the transmission control module (TCM), since this code only shows that the information from it is too poor
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the gear value that the TCM reports in live data and check that it changes when you change gear
- 5Erase the code only once the fault in the transmission control module has been repaired, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 6If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the transmission control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Electric adjustment of the door mirrors does not work
